Ingredients

  • 1/2 small banana, frozen
  • 3/4 cup frozen peach, mango, and strawberry blend
  • 1/2 red apple, cored
  • 1 cup raw kale
  • 3/4 cup pure apple juice no added sugars
  • 1/4 cup unflavoured collagen peptides
  • 1 tiny squeeze fresh lemon juice secret ingredient for brightness

Equipment

  • blender

Method

  1. First, add the raw kale to the bottom of your blender. This helps the powerful blades catch the greens and blend them more smoothly, ensuring no fibrous bits remain.
  2. Next, add in the frozen banana, frozen peach, mango, and strawberry blend, and the cored red apple.
  3. Pour in the pure apple juice.
  4. Add the tiny squeeze of fresh lemon juice; this is the secret ingredient that brightens all the flavors.
  5. Lastly, add the unflavoured collagen peptides on top.
  6. Put on the lid and begin blending on a low speed, gradually increasing the speed to high. Blend until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy, which usually takes about 1-2 minutes. Do not worry if you see little red bits of apple skin; that is perfectly normal and adds to the rustic charm.
  7. Pour the finished smoothie into a glass and enjoy it immediately for the best taste and texture.

Notes

For a thicker smoothie, use more frozen fruit or less liquid; for thinner, add more apple juice or water, a splash at a time. Always use a tiny squeeze of lemon for brightness and use frozen fruit for the best texture. Best enjoyed fresh, but can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 24 hours (shake before serving), or frozen in ice cube trays and re-blended later.
