Method
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned, breaking it up with a spatula. Drain excess fat.
- Add ¾ of the pasta sauce to the beef in the skillet. Stir well and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Spread the remaining ¼ jar of sauce in the bottom of the prepared dish.
- Layer half of the frozen ravioli in a single layer over the sauce. Top with half of the meat sauce and half of the shredded cheese.
- Repeat layers: Add remaining ravioli, then meat sauce, then remaining cheese. Sprinkle dried basil and oregano on top, if using.
- Cover dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake for another 15 minutes until cheese is golden and bubbling. Let rest for 5–10 minutes before serving.
Notes
No need to thaw the ravioli — bake straight from frozen. Letting the lasagna rest before slicing is key to clean servings. Customize with vegetables or use plant-based meat for a vegetarian version.
