Prepare the Chicken
- If using raw chicken, pat dry, pound to even thickness, and rub with a mixture of olive oil and ranch seasoning. If using rotisserie chicken, shred and toss with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and ranch seasoning.
Crisp the Bacon
- Fry bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy (about 3 minutes per side). Drain on paper towels, but keep the rendered fat in the skillet.
Cook the Chicken
- If using raw chicken, cook in the skillet with bacon fat over medium heat for 6-7 minutes per side until reaching an internal temperature of 165°F. Rest before slicing.
Toast the Buns
- Wipe the skillet clean and toast the buns for about 1 minute until golden brown.
Assemble the Base
- Spread ranch dressing on the bottom halves of the toasted buns and top with a mound of shredded lettuce.
Layer and Finish
- Arrange sliced chicken over the lettuce, followed by Cheddar cheese and crispy bacon. Add a bit more ranch to the top bun, close, and press gently to secure.
